The marketing strategy I will explain to you today deals with consumer electronic companies. These strategies can range from the most innocent of ones, like an advertisement, to the major nuisances, such as wasting money, and using social websites and the media to pressure consumers.

Beware Marketing Strategy
Companies use a variety of different marketing strategies against there consumers. These strategies range from the most innocent of advertising, to huge nuisances, depending on the consumer's wallet, the pressure, the media, and the consumer's friends and family. You may have encountered these strategies throughout your lifetime, and seem to never learn from your mistakes (company's success).

The strategy I'm going to introduce to you is the fact that companies, especially in the field of electronic devices, release new versions of their products, with updates, from time to time. Before one knows it, their new buy has just become the laughing stock of the neighborhood. Now, this would be true, if life went by much faster, but even though, this is a major problem. Most American consumers don't have the privilege to spend their money to meet their happiness, so even though updated versions of products come throughout a 4-12 month period, most people do not feel that it is necessary to purchase the updated version.

That's where the media, and socialism comes in. Pressure the consumer's friends and family sometimes causes them to dive into a dilemma. All the people that are "cool" have this device. Advertisements make it seem like it's the newest thing that will be available for a long time. It says it in way by over-exaggerating the "new, low price" or the "new, improved camera". The fact is, this new thing is nothing but a pleasure that will soon become something pointless.
Social sites. School, work. You see your friends have the updated versions. The show you all the great new features, that they just got, for a lower price than you did. This pressure makes you feel guilty of being stupid.

You just bought the older device a few weeks back, and now, you could have bought the newer version for a fraction of the price. You feel stupid, and you feel that you should never trust electronics again. Both of these are side effects that you can avoid by being smart.

Prevent this problem, and know what to do. Look for professional rumor websites that have an inside scoop on the product, and check out if they know if you should just wait a bit more. And if you fell into the trap, think about the relationships between the old and the new. If the basic, core functions and the basic purpose of the device, are still in the old one, I think you'll survive.

In my opinion, companies should first release the product in a way that it shouldn't and wouldn't be updated in a long time. Then, when they decide to release it, they should add another idea for it, just to be careful :). In conclusion, you should be happy with what you have, and if you really just want to have the newest of all, just research, and be confident with your purchase. In the end, if you use your device, and are satisfied with what it does, there is no possible way to conclude that you wasted your money.
